Aurangzeb Khan or Qateel Shifai was a Pakistani Urdu poet who brought out over 20 collections of verse and 2,500 songs for Pakistani and Indian films. His poetry has been translated into many languages, including Hindi, Gujarati, English, Russian and Chinese.
Qateel Shifai was rewarded the Pride of Performance Award in 1994 for his contribution to literature. He also received the Adamjee Award, Naqoosh Award, Abbasin Arts Council Award and Amir Khusro Award in India.
His poetry is included in the Masters\' level syllabi in Pakistan and India.
