Mir Tanha Yousufi was born on January 1, 1955 in the village Adam Ke Cheema in Sialkot of present day Punjab in Pakistan. He is an acclaimed contemporary Punjabi and Urdu writer. Yousufi started his literary career as an Urdu poet. He completed his under graduation in science in the year 1972, and regularly contributed ghazals and poems to literary magazines and National news papers. Yousufi\'s first Punjabi short story collection “Sooraj Uggan Taa’en” (Till the Sun Rises) was published in the year 1996. Yousufi published his first Punjabi novel Treh {Thirst}” in the year 1998 and some of his major writing includes Luknat (Stutter), Ik Samandar Paar (Across one sea), Lucknat, Khiddoo (The Cotton Ball), Tae Faer (Then What?), Kaalaa Chaanan (Black Light), and Annha Khooh (Abandoned Well).
