Danielle Fernandes Dominique Schuelein-Steel, popularly known as Danielle Steel is an American writer. Some of her books include Going Home, Passion\'s Promise, Now and Forever, The Promise, Golden Moments, Season of Passion, Summer’s End, The Ring, Palomino, To Love Again, Remembrance, Once in a Lifetime, Crossings, A Perfect Stranger, Thurston House, Changes, Full Circle, Family Album, Secrets, Wanderlust, Fine Things, Kaleidoscope, Zoya, Star, Message from Nam, No Greater Love, Jewels, Mixed Blessings, Vanished, Accident, Five Days in Paris, Malice, Silent Honor, Special Delivery, The Long Road Home, The Klone and I, Bittersweet, Leap of Faith, Coming Out and Friends Forever. She has written books on romance and for children. Most of her books have been translated into 28 languages.

Steel was born in New York. She was raised in New York and Europe. She attended Lycée Français de New York, Parsons School of Design and New York University. She was inducted into the California Hall of Fame and has received Outstanding Achievement awards from the Larkin Street Youth Services in San Francisco and the California Psychiatric Association, a Service to Youth Award and a Distinguished Service in Mental Health Award.
