Colin Bateman is an Irish writer, screenwriter, and former journalist. His writings for children include the Eddie & the Gang with No Name series, Titanic 2020 series, and SOS Adventures. His books for adults are the Dan Starkey series, Martin Murphy’s series, and the Mystery Man series. The Dan Starkey series includes Divorcing Jack, Of Wee Sweetie Mice and Men, Turbulent Priests, Shooting Sean, The Horse with My Name, Driving Big Davie, Belfast Confidential, and Nine Inches. The Martin Murphy series includes Murphy’s Law and Murphy’s revenge. The Mystery Man series has Mystery Man, The Day of the Jack Russell, Dr. Yes, and The Prisoner of Brenda (to be released in October 2012). His other writings are Cycle of Violence, Empire State, Maid of the Mist, Mohammed Maguire, Wild about Harry, Chapter And Verse, I Predict a Riot, and Orpheus Rising. His book Murphy’s Law has been televised by the BBC.
Colin Bateman was born in Newtownards, Northern Ireland. He attended the University of Oxford.
