Carol Creighton Burnett is a renowned and popular American actress, comedian, singer, dancer and writer. She was born in 1933 at San Antonio, Texas, U.S. She wanted to study journalism; however she shifted her focus towards performing and theater arts and English.
Carol Burnett began her career as a hat-check girl. She landed with a miniature role on The Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney Show. She moved to working for the sitcom, Stanley. She also participated on The Tonight Show and The Ed Sullivan Show. She made it to Broadway and rose to stardom with Once upon a Mattress. She made her mark in several other shows such as Fade Out - Fade In, Moon Over Buffalo, and Putting it Together. With a couple of other major successes, she started The Carol Burnett Show. Her best-selling memoir has been One More Time.
Currently, Burnett is about to release a memoir, Carrie and Me. It is based on her daughter, Carrie who died of lung and brain cancer.
