Bhupendra Nath Kaushik was born on July 7, 1924 in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh. He was a Hindi and Urdu poet, writer and humorist. He completed his school from the Ambala Cantt in Haryana. After his school, he completed his M.A. in English literature from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. He worked as an employee with BSNL and pursued writing along with his service. His literary career took off with Urdu stories and he soon started writing poetry in Hindi. Bhupendra Nath Kaushik won the "Sahitya Maneeshi alankaran" in 2005 for his satire "Koltar Main Aks". Some of his major Urdu poetry writing includes Maa, Rahat, Desh ki jawani, Bhonk and Chor. His popular hindi poetry has names like Naya Prazatantra, Kutta, Bhushe Ka Dher, Yun ud gaya and Chalo Chal chalain.
