Aashish Mehrotra is a film writer and producer who also writes short stories in his spare time. He has contributed a short story for Down The Road (a collection of 28 short stories compiled by 16 authors that talks about the highs and lows of school and college life). Aashish grew up in Sydney, Australia, and moved to India when he was 11. He got his first job at the age of 16, as an Assistant Director for a game show on Star Plus called Kismey Kitna Hain Dum. After this he decided to learn all the aspects of filmaking as he felt that with this he had found his calling in life.
He then went on to complete his education from Jai Hind College and did his Bachelors in Mass Media (majored in Advertising). He worked as a Production Assistant for Reel Life Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd. in association with Popcorn Entertainment for GIFA (Global Indian Film Awards) that were held in Malaysia. He also gained experience in the pre-production of the film Fame as a Production In Charge for Reel Life Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd.
Aashish’s father, Rajeev Mehrotra, is an old-time Bollywood producer amd has produced Bollywood movies like Do Qaidi (starring Govinda and Sanjay Dutt) and Adhura Aadmi (starring Amzad Khan, Vidya Sinha, Shatrughan Sinha).
Aashish has also worked as a Production Executive at Pritish Nandy Communications, for the film Ugly Aur Pagli, a Bollywood flick starring Mallika Sherawat and Ranvir Shorey. He also has the experience of being a Local Line Producer for an episode on Ganesh festival for an American lifestyle channel - Fuse.tv.
Aashish is currently working as an Associate Producer on a Bollywood feature film directed by choreographer Saroj Khan. He has also written the story and screenplay for the same movie.
