A.R. Rahman (Allah Rakha Rahman 1966) is a globally recognized Indian Tamil chanteur, composer and record producer. He has seized major awards including Academy Awards for his contributions to the blockbuster movie Slum Dog Millionaire 2008, BAFTA award, 2 Grammys and a Golden Globe award. He has been dubbed “The Mozart of Madras” by Time Magazine. Rahman has composed over 100 movie scores/tracks and became widely known nationally after his breakthrough tracks for the movie Roja. Rahman is the first South Asian to sign with Sony.
