Biography of Vaibhavi Merchant :
Vaibhavi Merchant is an Indian dance choreographer who choreographs mostly for Bollywood films. Starting her career with acting in the Malayalam film, Snehapoorvam Anna, Vaibhavi soon realized that her forte was not acting but choreography and thus, changed her course in the film industry. The first song for which Vaibhavi choreographed was Dholi Tharo from the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s blockbuster film, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. She even bagged a National Award for this choreography.
Since then, she has only gotten better and better. Vaibhavi has choreographed dance sequences for some of the top films of recent years. These are films like Devdas, Baghban, Dhoom, Lagaan, Veer Zara and Aaja Nachle. She also choreographed the 2005 chartbuster song, Kajra Re from the film Bunty Aur Babli. Her work for this song got her the Best Choreographer Award at every Award ceremony held in Bollywood. Lately, Vaibhavi Merchant has been judging Nach Baliye 3 and Jhalak Dikhhla Ja, two popular talent shows.
