Tochi Raina, belongs to a small place Patiala (Punjab). His grandmother was a Sitar player, uncle Ratan Singh, a renowned Violin player and his grandpa, Akaali Kaur Singh a saint.
His learning experience extends upto 28yrs in all kinds of music forms, i.e. Singing, Instrumental Playing, Composing etc. He learned music since his childhood but he got the right direction only in 1981. His Gurus not only taught him music, but techniques to visualize his breath and gradually he got attached to spirituality and Sufi Music.
When he migrated to Mumbai, he got his first break with bulleshah in “A Wednesday”, in 2008. His most notable works include iktara (wake up sid), o pardesi(dev d),saibo(shor in the city), gal mithi mithi bol(aisha), aali re(no one killed Jessica)..and many many more.
During his professional journey, he has sung for Jingles, TV Music Shows, Hindi Films, Stage Shows, etc., and has gained a lot of recognition so far. He believes that sky is the only the limit for a person who is true to his work.

An eclectic album, the songs musically float into different genres. Tochi Raina along with the very gifted music director of the album (Sukhi Kalsi), believed that a person when listening to the album at a stretch, should have an overall experience of most genres that he is familiar with. It is this very belief, which brings to the album an assorted feel. Every song is sung by Tochi Raina, composed by Sukhi kalsi and written by Shweta Raina.
The first track of sona sajan named SONA SAJAN has a hip hop groove blended with R&B. A punjabi song at heart, it invites you to groove to every beat.
O MERI JAANE JAANA(KESARIYA BALAM), is a folk song blended with a very original composition.The song starts with the vocal prowess of Tochi Raina, as he belts out kesariya balam in a unique unheard tune, which is filled by the bela baharr.
TERI YAAD SATAAYE, is a contemporary song about departed lovers. The song’s hypnotizing guitar melodies gives it a very Indian feel & is infact the icing on the cake.
A song that must really be close to Tochi Raina is JAANA MERE DIL SE, an acoustic song dedicated to his late mother. The song has only acoustic guitars, Tochi’s voice and shakers. A pure acoustic raw song.
JUNGLE MEIN AAG LAGI, is a dandiya rock song with very raw percussions. The catch phrase of the song is indeed very catchy and sticks to your head.
