I’m Sheldon Pereira the lead singer of the band The Wild Side and I have been in touch with my passion for the past 15 years. I started singing at the age of 17 with a rock band named “Tantrix” and from then on life has never been the same. I have performed with various artists and bands from around Mumbai like Aqua Flow, High Tide, Tequila, Zeal, Tantrix, Kickstart Freedom, The WildSide, Thompson Andrews to name a few. My new album titled “India” which has been directed and produced by Nyzel D’Lima is my first step to get myself recognised as an individual artist. Nyzel and I have worked on this album over the past 5years. The outcome, a mix of retro, alternative style rock with a touch of blues and pop. To some the album may sound laid back since most of the music was composed and written in my college days. All of the lyrics are related to love & life and some songs speak about my real life situations. Currently I am also working on a hindi album which will be released next year. This time the music is new age and has a different sound, keeping up with the times. I would say music has kept me alive and I enjoy what I do especially when I’m on stage, I get a kick outta huge crowds and the whole vibe when I’m performing in front of an audience that reciprocates to your sound.

I see music as a tooI for me to express my emotions and my desires and bring out the man in me. A medium to help me connect with the outside world and make people relate to my songs as if they were in the same situations as me. A bridge between reality and an imaginary world that I create through my lyrics, that gives me a sense of satisfaction and comfort. My album may be laid back and old skool for some,but it has evolved over a period of time through real life events that has inspired me to write my lyrics. My music just comes to me naturally and I get a kick outta singing and performing in front of a great audience. I want to be seen as a versatile musician who just loves his music and am trying to pursue my dream to create a place for myself on the international circuit. Until then I’m just singing along and making my life a happier place.
