Peenaz Masani has mesmerized ghazal lovers for over two decades. A graduate of Mumbai University, Peenaz is one of the most respected names when it comes to ghazal singing. Till date she has cut over twenty discs and sung in over ten languages. Not only ghazals, she has also firmly established herself as a playback singer for Bollywood. She has sung for over fifty Hindi films and has worked with renowned music directors like R.D. Burman, Nadeem Shravan, Rajesh Roshan and Anu Malik. She has also forayed into Pop Music with her album, Tu Dil De De which proved to be a char topper on Channel V and MTV. In 1996, the Uttar Pradesh state government conferred the unique title of 'Shehzadi Tarunnam' on Penaz, in recognition of being the best ghazal singer in the country. Penaz is today one of the first ghazal singers to have been awarded a Platinum disc.
