GD Prasad currently studying a masters in Advertising & Marketing in England has been composing music since the age of 10 and over the years has worked on several English theatre productions, short films, radio & TV programmes, public service campaigns and signature tunes for corporates.
A commerce graduate from Chennai, Prasad has worked with a big four audit firm and continues to pursue his passion for music. Wherever he goes, he collaborates with talent in his vicinity and performs or records with them. A skilled pianist, GD Prasad has learnt to play the drums in addition to passing 5 grades in the Trinity College of London Piano (practical) examinations, but decided to quit studying music in 2004 to begin experimenting on his own.
Since then, he has been a member of a band in school & college and has also been awarded the title of “best keyboardist” at several events across India. In 2007, he composed the signature tune for Ashok Leyland Ltd. which was used in the Delhi Auto Expo 2008 and his music for an AIDS awareness short film has been appreciated by the ministry of health, India.
GD Prasad is currently working on Bhopal, a play in english, to be staged in Chennai in June 2011. He is collaborating with trained hindustani classical singers and promises an album based on the Indian Rock genre to coincide with the mood of the play, based on the Bhopal gas tragedy.
