Babu is playing the best music of his life. Babu Choudhary's 'Somewhere Out There' is based on all genres of music - blues, Indian fusion, rock, and hip - hop, jazz and has a unique sound.

Rock guitarists aren't really known for their nine lives. Most haven't made it past their 20's to tell their tale. So this album created 30 years after he stopped regaling Indian college audiences is one hell of a surprise!

It all began with a melody that refused to go away. So ten years after he had quit playing, Babu dusted his guitar and strummed a few chords. He needed a loop - singer Vijay Prakash came in for a dub at the studio, but stayed on to sing a few alaaps! The melody that haunted Babu transformed into 'Where Did We go Wrong', a song whose strains echo long after the album is heard. Other songs soon followed and two years later, 'Somewhere Out There' was an album that 'just happened' with a little help from his friends. The experience of 30 years of playing live shows came to the fore as melodies, solos and licks that slid effortlessly off his guitar.

This is an intensely personal album created with his friends from the Bombay music industry - Ranjit, Rags, Vijay Prakash, Storms, Chin2, Amit Datta, Clary, Cliffi, Carl Clements, Roshan Muchado, Aviv, Shazneen, Jarvis, Jolly, Amit Trivedi, Yvan Le Gall. As well as his sound engineers - Vijay Benegal, Allen, Nelson, Derick, Noel and Jarvis from Eardrum Studios, Soundslap Studios and Bandwagon Studios respectively. The music seems to free flow through all these influences to emerge as truly global.
