William Landay is an American writer. His writings include Defending Jacob, The Strangler, and Mission Flats. He attended Yale University and Boston College Law School. Before moving to fulltime writing, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was awarded the John Creasey Dagger (now called the New Blood Dagger) for his book titled Mission Flats. His book titled The Strangler was shortlisted for the 2007 Strand Magazine Critics Award as the best crime novel. He currently lives in Boston.
