Samit Basu has authored five novels: The Simoqin Prophecies, The Manticore\'s Secret and The Unwaba Revelations, the three parts of The GameWorld Trilogy (a fantasy trilogy), Terror on the Titanic and Turbulence. Along with novels, Basu writes columns, screenplays, makes documentary films and is a freelance journalist who writes on travel, film, books and pop culture.
Basu grew up in Calcutta, where he did his education from Don Bosco School, and Presidency College, Kolkata. He dropped out of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and chose to study broadcasting and documentary filmmaking from the University of Westminster, London.
Basu has also written short stories for children, which have appeared in the Puffin Book of Bedtime stories, the Puffin Book of Funny Stories, Seven Science Fiction Stories, Superhero!, and Electric Feather. He has also published a series of essays on Indian speculative fiction titled The Trousers of Time: Possible futures of Indian speculative fiction in English.
He lives and works in New Delhi, India.
