Anita Pratap is a journalist, documentary filmmaker and author of Island Of Blood. For the last 20 years, she has reported hardcore news, concentrating on crucial issues, like population, education, health care, poverty, child, women, culture. She is right now working as an independent documentary filmmaker.
Anita has worked as the South Asia Bureau Chief of CNN and reported major stories happening during the period. Some of them include nuclear tests, ethnic war in Sri Lanka, Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, conflicts in India\'s Kashmir. She has also reported from the LOC (Line Of Control). She also has the experience of working for eight years as a correspondent for TIME magazine, India Today and the Indian Express.
She has been awarded many journalistic awards that include - American George Polk Award in 1997 for excellence in television reporting for coverage of the Taliban takeover of Kabul; Eminent Indian Award conferred by the Indo-American Society; Woman Achiever of the Year in December 1998.
